There we were motoring round in a tight circle at idling speed while I was setting up my 'hook-it' type pole to get the ring on top of the mooring buoy at Queenborough and the engine stopped! Panic from my wife who was on the helm so I immediately restarted the engine, which was OK and then noticed the genoa sheet over the side....... which when retrieved was a few feet shorter. At least I know it works and I assume no damage has been done as the engine was only idling at the time - but will teach me to make sure the figure of eight knot at the end is secure. It was an Ambassador Stripper by the way.

Agree totally! I know of at least three occasions when our Ambassador has saved the day the last being a huge piece of fishing net in Biscay which it chewed through and allowed us to keep going. God knows how many times it has chewed through smaller stuff without us knowing. Wouldn't be without it.

No connection etc.
