Has been a while since been on the forum - moved house and office down to Plymouth (along with wife) earlier this year. Now things are beginning to get settled have a little more time for the forum.

Am looking at upgrading to an Aquador 26HT before the year is out, is it possible to fit rope cutters to a single sterndrive? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I thought one of the few advantages (I'm a shaft drive fan) of stern drives was that you just lift the lags to remove ropes etc?
Why would you want rope cutters?!

Ambassador do a scissor cutter for a sail drive, but I wasn't aware of one for a stern drive.

The problem is not being able to remove the debris , the problem is that fishing line and rope can damage the oil seals or pull the shaft out by the time you know you've caught something. Same with outboards without oil you'll quickly do some internal damage.
