Rope cutter for Volvo Saildrive

I want to fit a rope cutter to the saildrive (Volvo) on the boat. We have a two blade prop.

Any advice on what type to fit and how to do it please?

The Stripper from Ambassador Marine is widely used. We have used them for years.

I have had the Ambassador rope stripper for two years, and its been really effective. Best to decide whether you will stick with the two blade prop for many years before you buy - the stripper is specific to the number of prop blades.

Does the prop need to come off to fit a stripper?

well, I know beacuse someone ( /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif) left one of my 24 mm mooring lines dangling overboard, and the Stripper just sliced through it. Well, shortening the mooring line was much less expensive than the previous damage of a rope around the saildrive!!

Three cheers fro Ambassador (but it is not cheap, it cost half as much as the Kiwiprop)....

Anyone got a second hand one for sale? can't remember shaft dia. but would be interested while rudder is off.
