I had a Plastimo furler on my Snapdragon. The original was of unknown age, but continued to work for several years until the lower bearing wore out and destroyed the drum. The new one was still going strong after about 10 years when I sold the boat.
I won't get into the arguments about fitting, just confirm that they aren't the rubbish some people say they are. I suspect that many problems come from using an undersized one for the boat.
