Hi All.
Long time lurker. First time posting. We have just sold our current boat and have whittled the searched down to the Rodman 800 and the Rodman 810. What I was wondering if anybody had any experience in either of the boats and what sort of seating in the wheelhouse. Photos don't really show the size of the seats. We are ideally looking for something that will seat 4people in the cabin.

Thanks
Daz

Welcome disco, the 810 has a double seat at the helm and two double bench seats either side of the table. 800 same , not that big seats though , rodman are good boats imho better than the french.

Well blow up your tyres up on yer bike and get going.
That's all in hand. Extra pedal power will be used. I have to empty this boat on Thursday before the new owners sail it away on Saturday. As soon as that is done I will be on the case. Not that I can get out of my marina yet. Haha

I own a Rodman 870 which is the newer version of the 800 and for what I do is great. We have the flybridge version but to be honest if I were buying another that would not be a priority as all you can do up there is helm the boat with 1 other person so not a social space.

There is a helm seat that will sit 2 skinny people or 1 oversized person. The table can comfortably sit four.
The cabin sleeps 2 comfortably with the convertible dinette supposedly sleeping 2, well it does if you're small people or realistically 1 adult sized occupant.

Mrs B and myself use the boat for socials and weekends away. The eldest boy and I are more adventurous and will regularly (notso for this year though)
go mid english channel fishing from Poole we also do the channel islands most years. Short cruises to Weymouth/Portland and Cowes are regular occurrences.
Apart from the channel islands the longest social weekend we have had to date was to Torquay for 4 days which was ok.

They are not fast boats, mine with twin volvo 170hp d3 diesels will comfortably cruise between 18-20 knots flat out 26 knots
They also don't mind a bit of weather so always feel secure.

If you have any specific questions about the 800/870 just ask, sorry I have no experience of teh 810 other than it being a slightly smaller boats.

If you are anywhere near Poole and you would like a look around to get the feel for the boats you would be welcome to look at mine

Thankyou for your response. I have spoken with RBS this morning regarding the 2 models and the seating. We (the boss) have now come to the conclusion that we need to look for something a touch bigger. So back to the drawing board for now. Thanks for the help. Daz
