Ooh, I loikes a good beer festival, I does. Shame I'm gigging on the Saturday.

Jim,
When you go try the Rochford 30 ale. I helped make it! Harry, a mate of mine took me down to the Shepard Neme brewery at Faversham and with the help of Stewart the master brewer we made Rochford 30 with goodies like crystal malt and amarillo hops all the way from the USA.
It was a super day out watching a fascinating process, carried out by a consumate professional (Stewart). The process has some periods where no human intervention is required and these periods were suitably filled by visits to the samples room!

How Faversham has changed, I'd not been ther since I used to sail my 18 and 20 footers there in the late 1970's, it boasted two breweries then, the Whitbread one has since closed. I seem to rember that the 30 odd pubs in the town back then used to open on a rota system, as even then there was not enough trade to make it viable for them all to all open at the same time.

I hate you pensioners. I haven't had a chance to go to Shepherd Neame siince 1994 when Uncle Bob kept his dead Dauntless project at Iron Wharf.

I look forward to returning next year as part of the cunning plan to have a Medway meeting at Hoo.

I will certainly try the Rochford 30 and get my secretary to write the tasting notes as we go.:D

Thanks to Sailoman for his usual 'humour'.
Kioni, I am actually the fat b....... playing guitar, singing and doing a bit of harp.
Be glad to accept you as a MySpace friend.
