I had a great conversation with Robbins at SBS and ordered a small piece of Mahogany Plywood in mid October.......

Half Sheet 9mm Robbins Super Elite Plus Marine Ply BS1088 1.000 80.36 Sheet 80.36 Cut 1no 635mm x 325mm - Grain running along the 325mm.

Unfortunately the item remains on back order and despite reassurances that it will “be in next week” they appear unable to fulfil this order.

I am looking to refurbish my deck and chart table this winter, so I need a reliable supplier of mahogany and teak timber, any recommendations please?

I think you'll find that Bamptons has gone. Houses on the site. Shame.

Give Robbins a kick up the arse.

Brampton - Still going strong and I bought a few bits of marine ply from them on Friday. About the only place locally to source marine timber and good for small offcuts and half sizes etc

fwiw I found Robbins very helpful and easy to deal with for my post-SIBS order of some teak decking for my cockpit seats. The only fly in the ointment was a rogue delivery driver who refused to deliver to the marina office because he didn't have a lifejacket. Robbins had apparently used said delivery company for multiple successful deliveries to the same location prior to that and apparently I just got a hydrophobe.

Opps! I thought they had gone, there is planning permission for 10 houses on the site. My dad went to school with old man Bampton, I thought he told me they had packed up. I dont go there now since we moved over to IOW.

Goods news for Southampton for now at least, its a handy place for boat owners.
