A friend who does not use the Internet but who is a very capable owner and rebuilder of wooden sailing boats has acquired a very dead RNSA 14 which comes with a good rig and "bits" and is interested in rebuilding it as a project - i.e. building a new hull.

Does anyone know where a set of drawings might be obtained?

RNSA 14

Thank you.

Like many people, I learned to sail in one, in the early sixties, then thought no more about them. There is a story that the Navy just burned most of theirs, when they replaced them with Bosuns. They now seem to have become both scarce and strangely un-documented.

One wonders who the designer was - the NMM attribute the design to "Uffa Fox and Charles Nicholson" - a most improbable pairing!

If I remeber correctly most were built by apprentices in the dockyards so it unlikely they will have plans now though you could try http://www.rnsa.net/.

I dont think any have been made since before 1960 and they were replaced quite quickly by the Bosun in the mid 60s when some of the initial teething problems were sorted out, like the centreboard falling out when the boat capsized, were sorted

I confirm plans are available - a copy set was given to an IBTC student a year or so ago. Fairly sure I can locate source. PM me and I'll give you a 'phone number.

Hello, did you have any luck with finding plans for an RNSA 14 ft dinghy? i have recently acquired one in much need of repair and would be very interested in drawings if they are available.
