RNLI Teddington.

I doubt it ... Not in here !

To add I know all of what has been said that does not mean I agree.

We once had the river police ...

It appears to me that Time Out does rather push his own views and is not good at accepting other peoples’ views. I suspect he is the same person who tried to belittle my comments related to speeding boats and wash in the past.

As an RNLI supporter I felt obliged to comment !

Many of us support the RNLI but that doesnt mean we cant criticise them, does it

Folks, the reality here is that the RNLI is the rapid response option in the Teddington area. It takes the Met marine unit or Surrey fire and rescue much longer to respond to river incidents hence the RNLI getting first shout. As a committee member of another RNLI branch upstream, I can say that we exist to assist anyone in trouble while afloat or in need around the coast. We don't judge, we just want to help. One inexperienced mariner's disaster is another experienced mariner's minor cock up but we go to help whatever.

The cost is minimal in this case as it involves modest amounts of fuel but there is still benefit in practising the response process by the crews who volunter out of a wish to save life and rescue those in trouble, however minor it may appear to others.

Well said.

Furthermore, we don't want people who think they need help to delay asking for it because they are afraid of what others will think about it.

As I said you clearly don't know me so your comments are utter tosh.

I know you only from your postings here, which clearly indicate that you do not know why the lifeboat was called, what the problem was or why they took the action they did. Absent that knowledge, your vehement criticism seems a bit hasty.

How is it stirring wanting to protect charity money ?

It's not your money. It's theirs, and I am sure that they can be trusted to protect it.

As a matter of interest, do you visit RSPCA shelters and tell them which animals they ought to put down?

So I take from this that nobody whatsoever can challenge the RNLI or how they go about raising funds.

Do you not think that's a little odd ?

I guess I am in the minority.

And in case you wondered I have been here since Jan 4th 2000.

The two are linked.

I am only concerned about Teddington.

Anyhow had some interesting info last night, not the place to share but confirmed a number of things.

Anyhow I am leaving the conversation now as I have all I need.

Thanks

Oh they have and I must thank you for your concern.

Good to know the good folk of the forum have my back.

I can feel the love all the way up Teddington High Street ...

I can't see anyone mentioning the EA in their will or holding fundraisers for them.

If the Thames was managed by an NGO with charity status, different story.
