Well,
the Colreg truce lasted about 1/2 a day. See 'Riding Lights' pissing contest.
So neither Bignick or I can donate as we said we would.

Everyone who posted should dontate £10 per posting.

That post doesn't count as it was already on going when BigNick floated his post!

And I just gave the RNLI £20 donation for a secondhand paperback with a new price of £6 so either way I'm covered /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Just for once Robin, I can say you are wrong! My first post was before midday, A-7's riding lights started at 1838!

Besides, you are a girlie swot for buying a 6quid book for 20 - IMHO of course! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Oh shoot

The book was a girly one for SWMBO. They are quite clever though by inviting 'donations' rather than putting a price on them, it is separate from the normal shop sales till and I only had a £20 note, too embarassed to ask for change! I bought a little Lifeboatman Teddy Bear with oilies on for me to go with the other two on board!

Thanks Peter, I heard you were there from A & W just back from Scotland.

Did you have any luck with the folding lobster pot, Alan said you had one but was sure he would have heard if it had been fruitful! I bought one at Beauliue too and haven't tried it yet.

Folding lobster pot

Tried it a few times, but only got small crabs. Shall keep trying- - according to the chap who makes them you have to be fairly near rocks where they might live, and of course you can't deploy them if you are at anchor or on a buoy!

However we did get an eel, which probably weighed about 3lb!! Sadly we were due to depart that day, so we gave it to a an old chap who was fishing nearby. He was so grateful, he was almost crying. Imagine him going home and saying "look what I caught dear...."
