Hi not quite sure what your reply means,a lot of people gave a lot money to this chap,i was making a genuine enquiry,i suppose it could mean your just tired,if you have no info then just say so or say nothing, regards m m 1. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Hi thanks for that nothing new then, regards m m 1. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Did they give a lot of money? He seemed to be implying that he had received very little from the forum. Not sure about other sources, but as was pointed out, forum members probably already donate a fair sum to the RNLI.
Only saw the first few posts, so not sure what happened in the end.

Hi & thanks for that, hope someone can shed a little more light on the matter, regards m m 1.

Shame there was any discord, it was a worthy cause and the trip an achievment. Normally one does the fund raising before or during a sponsored event rather than afterwards, when the public rapidly looses interest. I've been involved in RNLI fund raisers of this side of the pond in the past and folk are usually generous when asked or in someway connected with an event before it's completion. But it might not be polite to complain about the level of giving afterwards!

Maybe we should sponsor him each time he flounces off the forum in a huff.

He would raise LOADS for the RNLI /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Arny made, what I would consider to be a libellous accusation about Haydn's charitable work and contributions. As I was posting a reply, the thread was deleted, so I created another thread and predicted that it would also be deleted. Within 8 views it was gone as well.

I also mentioned that despite Arny's accusations that not enough people were donating money to his, admittedly commendable adventure, I pointed out that people like myself did indeed donate money, but did it direct to the RNLI as, in my case, I didn't care for Arny's hubris and I didn't want him to be lauded for my donation, which is still my opinion.

I expect this post will get deleted soon, but I am past caring.

Hi & thanks for a very interesting reply,i think most of us give to the RNLI in one form or another i as an offshore member for many years, this arny chap seems to have turned it into a fiasco, however i'm sure he had a lovely trip on his boat, /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif regards m m 1.

Wondered what had happened. Remember saying something like. Maybe trouncing round the UK was not the best way to get RNLI donations. Dudo what Arny said back.

Mind I did get a PM that said. [word removed][word removed][word removed][word removed] And every one thinks I'm crap.

Somfink like that anyway.

Think Arny set off to be John Wayne and finished up Mr Bean.

I have to say I did in fact see the deleted thread before it got pulled and before Arny had in fact replied to HLBs post. I don't have any axe to grind here, but I must say that I would characterise HLB's post as gloating and uncharitable. Don't know what Arny said in reply, but if he did say [word removed] I would think that would have been fair enough (all IMHO of course).

How about a full set of accounts now that its over .
I can see Arny’s ‘Just Giving’ site has a target of £30K and to date £8K donated
