Visit www.rnlisos.org.uk for details of the RNLI "dress down" day on the 26th of January.
They are encouraging as many people as possible to wear unusual shoes to work on the 26th of January and give £1 to the Train One, Save Many Appeal.
They have just issued a list of some of the more weird rescues they did in 2006, including a complete cricket team and a Welsh farmer with a sheep he had been trying to rescue!

In October, a farmer was forced to call the RNLI after he became stuck in mud while rescuing one of his sheep, which was drifting down the River Clwyd, near Rhyl, in north Wales. The crew managed to pull both the farmer and the sheep to safety.

Yes, yes, but are you SURE he was trying to RESCUE the sheep ? ?

I suspect the 'cricket team' was the BBC Coast programme's stunt team on the Goodwin Sands. If you can explain to me why a television crew and a group including experienced locals needed rescuing when they had at least one large RIB with them I would be grateful. I don't think it was just to bolster a flagging programme moment
