RMAS Appleby

Graham I've just done a lot of googling and can't find anything!

THE APPLEBY: AN 80-TON NAVY TRAINING VESSEL

The Appleby is a former Royal Navy vessel.
The 80-ton ship was built in 1965 specifically for training sea cadets in the Royal Navy.
It was constructed by Pimblott & Sons in Northwich, a building company that closed its shipyard in 1971.
Since retiring from the Navy, the ship has been moored in Padstow.

She was in Sea Cadet service (but I thought she had been converted to such).
I had a few trips on board as mate/1st lieutenant.
She was transferred to RMAS but I know not when. I've contacted HM Padstow and will post the answer.

Surprised at that; they're built like brick outhouses and unlikely to have been damaged by grounding on a sandy beach, there's probably a market for them as houseboats.
