Need to get my aging Raymarine RL70c plus plotter head unit out of the dash. Mine is up above the Windscreen and there appears to be no access to get behind it anywhere. I have looked and looked and cant see how to get it out from the front. The only thing would be to take out another unit and somehow and try to reach around blind - I just can't believe that is how it would have been fitted! Is there a bezel or something that pops off the front?

Anyone know?

They're mounted with screws from the back, so you do probably need to take out another unit and reach round. Alternatively, you may need to remove the whole dash panel, or can you get acess from somewhere else, like behind the the flybridge dash moulding??

You can get to that bit on a princess by pulling sharply on the ceiling panel.
Disconnect any ceiling lights and then the whole ceiling lining comes down to reveal access to the back of lower helm top nav equipment.

As others have said, it's held in by (from memory) 4 screws (which can be turned by hand as they have big knurled wheels on them). Check to see if it hasn't just been stuck in with silicone sealant, however, as ours were/are...

Thanks for replies.

No silicone holding it in. No access from above on the FB. No whole dash or ceiling panels near enough - so its the reach around option then - what a PITA!

The ceiling panel top right with two lights in should pull down, disconnect the lights and take the panel outside.(not that the one visible in the photo will help you much) but just out of view should be the ceiling above your helm seat, this whole ceiling should come down which will allow you to stand on your helm seat and see the top of your plotter.

As others have said 4 screws from behind. You'll need to find a way to access it, but there is always a "hidden" way in behind these panels! :) Pulled our old one our a few years ago when replacing with Garmin.
