Looks like the flybridge model without the flybridge!! Hardly a stunning development.

I dont quite agree about this
I personally think that is the way for USA builders or US similar build boats (like Riviera) who want to offer some alternative to there good looking Sport Fisherman, as most of the rest coming from America does not look so good...
I think the Riviera Sport Yacht series but also the new Tiara 56 give a good comprise of American lines with modern design and practical touches....
what I like most of all and I think is that the Riviera will also look good after 10 or 20 years time

I know very little about them up until now, due to lack of interest.

I expect the 3600 will be in the water at this weekend's local show, so will have a look.

If it is there, I will now be taking extra care to inspect thoroughly!

It's been promoted quite a bit here, so a fairly good chance it'll be on show.

Very few dealers in the US, so rather rare here. This coupe style is a new trend in the US market. Remains to be seen whether these coupes will lure away many buyers from our traditional cruiser and flybridge markets.

Agree Kelly...

New Silverton 33 Sport Coupe comes to mind (though not as attractive as the Riviera). Any suggestions on other new ones to compare?

I rather like the family-friendly single-level saloon/cockpit layout.

Am looking forward to the Fjord 36.

Thanks for that. Interesting. Very bright and airy saloon.

I think the looks, particularly the interior, are going to date quite heavily though.

while the Marquis is very good looking it is still a very med EU looking boat, not much USA styling in it

the first who is following Riviera footsteps is Tiara with the new flagship, the 5800 I think Tiara will follow this concept as more then 30 where sold in Fort Lauderdale

I hope something similar to the Riviera will be introduced by Hatteras, Viking and Bertram

BTW I am surprised there is not much dealers in USA as they are the second sold Sport Fisherman in the USA, to my knowledge they are quite well represented in the USA....

Poweryacht,

What do you attribute Riviera's #2 position to? Price, quality, both?

I had always imagined sports fishers to be best when rather heavy (80's Bertrams etc). You say the Riviera's have great rides, though this surprises me.

When looking to charter a Pershing in Thailand, I was offered a Riviera and scoffed at it. Maybe I shouldn't have? I'm interested in learning more!

hello Sunday Child
Riviera have a reputation for good ride in Italy

the no.2 position is for sales in the USA for the Sport Fishmeran Yacht market which are they are second according to there website

as for the ride I can tell you what I saw
this Summer while in Porto Rosa in front of Lipari Eolie Island Italy, I was there in vacation and just entered in the morning doing a 75 mile trip from Giardini Naxos close to Toarmina. Now the stretch of water South Tirrenian in the morning was alreday blowing Westerlies Force 5 with 2 - 3 metres waves ok lets go to the point
in the afternoon the wind was pulling much more Force 6 and waves about 3 - 4 metres, out of the harbour goes a Sunseeker 47 Portofino just delivered, so I go and have a look to what the SS is doing but I was a bit late but after a 2 miles out it turns back in and behind her was a Riviera 4700 Sport Yacht which to what I saw was holding the water like it was nothing very Impressive indeed
what can I say more then this call the dealer and give a better review....

Very interesting. Thanks!

I shall be no longer ignore them. My mistake!

I've had a good look at the 4400 on the website. I think it's great! Very easy and sociable layout, and so much light in the saloon.

Thanks for opening my eyes!

"they are the second sold Sport Fisherman in the USA, to my knowledge they are quite well represented in the USA...."

Sorry, but that is flat out wrong!!! Most likely there is simply a misunderstnding somewhere. For example, they very well could be 2nd among those boats that are imported into the US. But certainly not including those built in the US!!!

To further confuse matters Riviera did build the bigger Wellcraft sport fishermen for some years. Though these were always sold by Wellcraft dealers under the Wellcraft Coastal label. Dunno if that arrangment is still in effect with Wellcraft.

I cannot find this statement as the company changed its website this week
but I am sure it was there, it simply said that they 2nd best sellers in the Sport Fisherman sector in the USA, cant remember the lenght but
but seeing in Yachtworld and YBW there surely seems to be a lot them in the USA especially recent launches, looking in there site it also seems there dealership is spanned everywhere, now they can enjoy huge sucess in one location or little to nothing in another....
