Riviera 3000 offshore Series II opinions?

Hi to all,

I am wondering if anyone has tried a Riviera 3000 offshore series II with twin KAMD 285.

I would like to know possible pros and cons and also about fuel consumption and seaworthiness...

I know this is a rare boat for the EU market but Riv's are certainly popular in Australia, and in my mind, at least of what I am aware of, these vessels are strong built in general.

Nick, the Riv's are certainly a popular boat in Oz, and the 3000 has been around for quite a while now.
Generally a well fitted out boat, but as with all new acquisitions, get a thorough pre-purchase survey.
Factor in this is not be a mainstream Euro brand, so things will probably move very slowly when it comes time to on-sell.

Let's say that because of what you say (you are absolutely right ) I am able to buy this specific boat in a very low price, so I know in advance that when time comes to sell, my asking price will be low.... so I am expecting to go at least easier than normal.

What about the rest? Has anyone riden a Riv 3000? Any ideas or opinions?

It will ride/perform as good as any 30 foot sportsboat, Riv's are well put together. No mid-berth cabin because of the shaft drive set-up on this size boat, but of course a big plus if you don't like sterndrives.
They sold well into the American market, especially good value when the Oz dollar is low, which is generally most of the time.
There is no reason not to buy the brand as far as poor design is concerned, it will depend on more how this particular example has been maintained during its life so far.
