Does anyone have information on the actual heights of each bridge on the Wey. Nicholson's guide just give a blanket 7' to Guildford and all the lock falls but no bridge heights. I would be nice to see how far we can get before hitting an Osney type bridge.

Boats using the Wey Navigations are restricted in size by the dredged depth of water, dimensions of locks and bridge clearance providing for a maximum length of 73 ft 6 in (22.4 m), a beam of 13ft 10 in (4.2 m), a height of 7 ft (2.13 m) and draught of 3 ft (0.91 m). All boats regardless of size using the two navigations require a licence from the National Trust and the fees from issuing these provide important income to the Trust for maintaining the waterway.

I googled River Wey bridge heights

I used to keep an Ocean 30 on the Wey, it had a folding windscreen.

Irreducible height with screen down is 7'0" on that version almost exactly.

I could normally get from Thames to the road bridge above Newark Lock, that bridge needed the screen down - it was a tad under 7'0" at normal water levels. After the next meadow section up to Papercourt (very pretty) the foot bridges and Send road bridge just past Cartbridge Wharf required the screen kept down - so again under 7'0" at normal Summer levels, Once past Send Road bridge no problem all the way until the Broadford Bridge by the old Wey and Arun Junction Canal.

Depth wise, keeping the Ocean in the middle more or less was fine although the sand bank that formed at the 2nd bend just below the private road bridge at Sutton Place meant one had to keep over to port going upstream. Otherwise no depth issues.

The Ocean is 2.9" draft, 7'0" air draft, 10'6" beam and 30' long.

Wey Bridges

Hi, all, first post! been lurking for a while but can answer this one so finally got around to registering.
From info provided at Thames Lock, problem bridges (going upstream) are Pigeon House (after Pyrford Lock) 7'6", Newark Bridge (Newark lock) 7'6", Warehams FB 7'6", Stoke 7'2" and Broadford 6'4". All the other bridges are at least 7'6".
I have a small dutch barge. I reckon my airdraft is 7'4". I can definitely get under Pigeon House ('cos I've done it) but I think I'll struggle at Stoke (haven't got up that far yet in this boat).
