If you happen to be going up the River Trieux from Lezardrieux to Pontrieux (well worth it btw) keep a look out for logs and branches in the water. (especially after heavy rain)
The seaweed will usually show you the deepest part of the channel, it also hooks up branches and logs and keeps them hidden, but there are still the odd stray one floating freely
So while you're looking around at the beautiful tree lined banks of the Trieux, make sure that someone is keeping a good look out at the water ahead. Even if someone is keeping a look out, and avoiding the weedy patches, it's still possible to hit a log or branch, I know, I did
We were comparatively "lucky" when we hit last week. We only broke the key the that stops the prop spinning on the shaft. We had forward, but no reverse and needed to be lifted out at Lezardrieux to fix it. I'm well aware it could have been a lot worse.
