The free river Thames Guide app has been updated to cover the Thames from source to sea!
Details of upgrade:
THE INTERACTIVE MAP now extends to the sea; feature overlays also extend to the Thames Barrier.
THE JOURNEY PLANNER extends from Lechdale to the Thames Barrier - journeys including a stretch of the tidal Thames include a warning about tidal flows.
BRIDGES include all the tidal bridges as far as the QE2 bridge with headways, PLA bridge warnings and special procedures around Tower Bridge.
WEATHER includes some tidal locations.
CURRENT CONDITIONS is extended to the tidal Thames showing current observed tidal flows.
Lots of minor improvements to the UI to make the app easier to use including clearer buttons, more intuitive navigation, together with some bug fixes and corrections to some locations (one or two locks were out of place by a few hundred metres).
Please note that some features (notably locks) are best viewed in landscape on smaller devices although portrait remains an option in all views on all devices.
Existing users will see the update automatically from their relevant App Store (only for the on-line Android version). For download links (including to update the Android off-line version), details, screenshots and more go to the dedicated site
