May I suggest that you ask a moderator to move your thread to the liveaboard forum?

Longest river in Iberia. Why do you ask❓Are you thinking of heading this way❓Long way from Andover in a power boat.?
I might be :) Is it a long way? Depends on the boat doesn't it? Are you familiar with the river? Looking on google it seems to be wide and without any obvious weirs or dams up as far as Constancia, which is where we'd be aiming for, but also looks shallow in a few places.

A brief internet search suggests that the Tagus is navigable for only a short distance from the estuary. The river is interrupted by waterfalls, hydro dams, etc. If you are looking for a navigable river you might find the Douro from the city of Porto a more realistic proposition. It also has many dams but they are by passed by very deep locks. It is navigable at least as far as the Spanish border I think. In 2015 we took the boat you see in my avatar 50 miles up river. It was an experience that ranks high in our boating memories.

Oh, and I should say it is a long way from the UK but also a great experience getting there.

Hmmm. My internet search (which maybe I should have done before posting!) says -

The estuary of the Tagus (12 mi/19 km long) is one of Europe's finest harbors; one of the longest suspension bridges in Europe, the Ponte 25 de Abril, spans the estuary. The Tagus is navigable for c.80 mi (130 km) upstream. Its lower and upper courses pass through deep gorges and are broken by waterfalls.

Costancia is about 60 miles from Lisbon, so maybe possible, depending on draft.

Also-
Unlike Spain, in Portugal, the Tagus river is navigable, here it has a wider channel, from Lisbon along the waterway you can reach the city of Abrantes.
