Five Little Pigs - Wallingford.
Pretentious and overpriced.
Amateurish and inattentive staff.
Forty minute wait for overdone steak.
Salad pathetic bunch of mixed leaves.

Any reviews for Boulters Restaurant & Bar, also the new moorings look good, is there plenty of depth and do they make an overnight charge for these

Chill
I went there 4 years back. Mooring was in terrible repair. Theres a sandbar that extends almost to opposite bank as you approach the pontoon, so move to north side of the bank and watch depth. It used to be one of my favourites, but was taken over at that last visit 4 years ago, and was no longer good. Would be nice to see if it has now improved and pontoon in good repair.

Spent the evening in Windsor and ate in Sebastians, a family run Italian in a backstreet near the station and shopping centre. It’s a must visit for us, great food, great service and great atmosphere. Wandered over to Eton and went to no19 wine and champagne bar in the high street. Great wine list, very chilled and very friendly. Highly recommended if you like fine wine and champagne.

A positive vote for the Beetle & Wedge at Moulsford. A regular spot for us as we're in Streatley, but very boat-friendly if you call ahead and book a mooring. Great food, lovely venue, well trained and attentive staff. A class act. ?

I just spent a couple of days cruising in a hire boat on the upper Thames. We visited the Riverside in Lechlade, the Old Swan at Radcot, the Trout at Tadpole Bridge and the Ferryman at Bablock Hythe. All have great locations, right next to the river with good gardens and terraces. Food was uninspiring but ok everywhere, maybe the Trout was the best But all of these places could be so wonderful.
I think the Ferryman is independent, the others are rather corporate.
My advice if you’re cruising up here is to take plenty of food with you, and use the pubs for drinks

The Maybush at Newbridge is the only place along here I would call a restaurant, the rest are just standard pub food.

yes agreed. I actually live quite near the Maybush and it is decent. If you can get away from the river there is a good pub with excellent food in Appleton, the Plough. Under newish management, who are doing a really good job. Vaut le detour
