Mess or not, the problem is one of long term occupation. Liveaboards without a permanent mooring qualify for social housing; I wonder how many have bothered to put their names down? The local schools are providing places, even though the parents pay no council tax.

Just spotted a tweet by Kingston Council:

"A boat unlawfully moored near the Hawker Centre for the past few months was moved on by us and @MPSKingston today."

It's the yellow submarine. Picture shows it being towed alongside something, heading upstream.

They were more than helped last year, after breaking free I read here that one boat enjoyed free mooring at Teddington lock until they were able to get back to their 'spot' when the flow subsided!

The large gentlemans cruiser that has been squatting at Teddington sea scouts for years sunk a few weeks ago. I wonder if it will be removed or if it will join the ranks of decaying sunken eyesores from Teddington to Sunbury?
It's a shame, because it looks like it use to be a nice boat before it ceased to be used as one.
