Not sure if this is the right forum, however here goes!

Relocating from the non tidal Thames, Henley etc. to York Marina.

What non tidal navigation options are available North and West? Are moorings easy to find when cruising (unlike the Thames) ? We like to overnight in remote places away from the crowds at times.

Also can anyone recommend a boat haulage company for a 35 Sessa?

TIA

The River Ouse above Naburn lock is non tidal where you can get as far as Ripon, but below the lock is tidal, but you can lock out at Selby, Goole or round the corner in the River Trent. Ripon Motor boat club used to publish an excellent informative guide to all the waters in this area (may still do, but probably available secondhand). We've had lots of fun in these areas in our Colvic 26 motorboat.

Any rain over the pennines and the ouse at York goes into flood pretty quickly and lots of debris floats about, when I did a trip up that way I was dodgeing pallets/oil drums/half sheds between Cawood and Selby.
Check out the flood levels in the Kings Arms....
Some pretty bits of river though.
