Hi All,

We have planned a week on the boat next week (so it is bound to rain!) and we fancy a trip up the Deben. I have looked at the Woodbridge cruising club web site and the entrance looks as though it is reasonably straight forward at the moment.

Do any of you have any up to the minute information? this will be our first time over the bar and I am well aware of it's reputation so I would like to be as well prepared as possible. We draw just under 3 feet.

Many thanks in advance
David

Was talking to a chap that goes out three times a week fishing. He said it was much better than last year although it can get rough with an on-shore wind on the ebb which I guess is obvious. I've looked at it a couple of times recently when out walking and I'd be more than happy to go in at 1.92m draft. Looks very straight forward.

No problem this year, much closer to the Bawdsey shore, about 1.4m depth at LW Neaps (my friend draws about 1.5m and just touched at 1hr after LW Neaps).
With your 3' draught you'll have no problem at Neaps and might just squeeze over on a calm day on a Spring tide.

I'd rather be sailing... :-) /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
