Good afternoon all

Could anybody advise what my options are for a 35ft motorboat and realistic cost and availability

Thanks in advance

Old Varnish is right about the concrete pontoons just upstream of Darthaven Marina - these have elec and water and are much desired. However there seem to be quite a few empty fore and aft trot moorings where we are - just a little bit further up river below the Higher Ferry. I have heard from the harbour staff that there is much less demand for moorings than there was a few years ago.

We love it up on the moorings - much quieter than the pontoons and the views are fabulous. The moorings are also half the price of the pontoons which is an added bonus - £113/metre inc VAT.

Well worth asking Dart Harbour if this is the kind of mooring you'd like.

Thanks for the replies.

Oldvarnish 12!!! I bet it was worth the wait.

I am trying to get as close to Stoke Gabriel as possible. Her draft is 0.6m and I don't want to dry out.

I think you might find that there are moorings further up which might suit you. A friend has a Contessa 26 with 4ft draft off Dittisham (DHNA mooring) and I know there are some moorings round the Galmpton corner towards Stoke Gabriel. What I don't know is the max length the harbour authority will allow on these moorings. Would suggest phoning DHNA - either Di or the Up-River Officer should be able to help. I know they are having trouble finding boats to fill the small moorings up river but really don't know about availability of the larger ones.

River Dart phoned me last month and offered me an inline mooring at kingswear. I was on the list 2 years. I think the minimum length was 30 feet. I am settled in brixham, so I turned it down. They must therefore, have some for rent !
