Is it going to be readily navigable in a narrowboat from Stratford to Tewkesbury at the end of October, or a likely waste of time?

It should be navigable flood water permitting , there are no navigation warnings on the web site.

Enjoy a nice stretch of river.

It all depends on the amount of rain before you go. It is a beautiful river but you can see how high the level reaches by the plastic bags in the trees and the Evesham lock cottage on stilts.

After a bit of flooding you can tell how high it got by the narrowboats in the fields along the riverbank.....................

We decided that the late deals were not attractive enough, although I now see there is a 48ft boat for £644 for the week from Wootton Wawen. Our problem is we wanted to go via Stratford and that's not very far unless you go on the Avon and it might be a bit unreliable. Having a week in Tenby instead. I must say the boat hire last year was very good, fuel and gas all in, no more spending except food and beer.
