I want to motor my s/v up to and through the lock at Guily Glaz. It opens +-2 hours high water. Can I do it with my 2m draft and air draft 17.5m? Any particular problems?

Any advice is most welcome.

We went up last August. 1.7 draft and 14.1 air draft but I don't recall anything too shallow or too close overhead. There was quite a lot of floating weed in places so keep an eye on your raw water inlet. I mainly remember incredible numbers of herons! Very worthwhile if you like river trips.

In this video I did several years ago now There’s a shot of the depth sounder on the approach to the lock showing 3.3 mtrs and on that trip we went up very early on the tide so it’s still rising. The bit before the lock is reputed to be the shallowest part, you should have no trouble if you watch your sounder and stick to the outside of the bends.
