I think your logbook is wrong (sorry!).

I don't think there was a Carter 32.

They did the 30 (like Gallivanter), and the 33 (very much a scaled up 30).

I owned a 33 for a few years: a great boat.

Anyway: RIP John Goode.

I bought Gallivanter from John a few years ago. Great man. Swore a lot.

I taught my first Day Skipper courses on that boat!

I did my Yachmaster with Southern Sailing and was promptly recommended for my YMI by John. I went on to work for him and counted him as a friend. We haven't been in touch for a long time now as life moves on. I have memories of his very fierce parrot who would have your finger off if you got near it when you visited his house in Swanwick. John was a great sailor who taught me lots. I sailed with him a couple of times and he was a pleasure to be with. RIP John Goode

I recognise that name, is she a VdS Pimpernel, which we took from Devon to the Clyde?

She was (is?) a Carter 30. She appeared in loads of John’s PBO articles.

There is a compilation of his from the PBO articles called "Lets do it under sail" which I think is a particular classic . There is nothing quite like it with excellent pictures and simple text to follow. One hopes that all his PBO compilations go to print again for others to follow and enjoy.
