RIP Byron Alexander

Good shout with the "sticky" Mods. I didn't know Byron but have been quite moved by the posts here, quite a guy. Condolences to his family.

Sad to report the passing of Byron Alexander earlier this morning. Best known, perhaps, on the Thames Forum, but in earlier years often seen in Ramsgate with his Princess "Ocean Eagle".
Many boat clubs and organisations on the Thames enjoyed his hospitality and he thoroughly enjoyed seeing his river frontage occupied by boats from club meets, to ADLS to Swan Uppers.
the river has lost a character and a friend.
Hi All , I have resurfaced albeit boatless at the moment, prior user name was Nickcred and I owned thye Birchwood 25 named Tristan, so sorry to hear of Byron's passing. He was a true gent and I stayed a few times at the mooring at the end of his garden. Hope you are all doing well. I sold Tristan when going through a life change and divorce and to this day wish I had kept hold of her. I hope to be back on the river in the next year or so, life is settled and good and I am very happy. Hope all my old friends on the river have fared well in the passing years. Does anyone know where Tristan ended up

According to the EA, she still has a Thames licence, but has been re-named Alanna Belle.
