Rinker 250 fiesta vee

Thanks rubberduck,
This petrol problem seems to be popping its head up quite often. Am I right in thinking that it is not available as much as diesel on the waterside.
When available is it more expensive than forecourt Petrol and are pleasure boats still allowed to run red diesel.

Yes, much harder to find & very expensive, red diesel is still allowed but is not much cheaper than road diesel thanks to the eu. Do some searches on diesel prices to get an idea. Fuel prices do seem prohibitive, but if you work out how many hours you will run the engines in a year, when you have time off that coincides with decent weather, it is not that much of a deal breaker, again do your searches.

Thats a fair point. I hadn't thought of it like that. Are there any restrictions that prevent you bringing your own fuel to your boat in Marinas.

Depends where you are intending to boat.. if for example, it's on the Solent then there is plenty of petrol outlets, you'll have no problems. I used to use forecourt petrol anyway topping up with jerry cans. Also factor in your intended use of the boat, if as we did it is short hops between marina's petrol isn't much of a factor in terms of overall cost of boat ownership. if however, you want to cruise, diesel is a must. As for the Rinker 250 fv.. great boat for the money, we had lots of fun in ours... you can see our old boat rotting away in Shamrock Quay Marina (neglected by the new owners)

I have the 270 (luckily a diesel) great boat. Not as good as build as some boats but value for money is great

That looks like excellent value for money. Now you have posted it on here I would buy her fast before someone else does. My boat is on a swinging moreing and each time I go out I take 30 ltrs in 10 ltr cans. You will need a bit more but it is doable. a Jiggle Syphone (£5 from ebay) is a must and your best friend

Thanks Bigplumbs,
it seems like bringing a good percentage of your own fuel is quite a common practice among boat owners. I'll be having a look for a jiggle syphone.
