RIMAS The unbelievable saga continues across the Pacific

This thread inspired me to check. The Flyin' Hawaiian actually made it 120 miles offshore before starting to sink. The crew were rescued and the boat is presumed to have sunk. It's not clear if the builder was on board. http://www.marinij.com/article/NO/20150202/NEWS/150209954

On the bright side, it was no less ugly than other catamarans.

Hot Rod was on board with his mum and a girlfriend. . His Harley clone was not. The other two crew were a hermaphrodite with a pregnant concubine. You could not make this stuff up!

Not looking good for him. 48 hours without a ping from his device, no sails, no steerage and in an area covered in reefs.

I would take the no sails and no steerage bit with a pinch of salt. He knows that he is more likely to get a tow if he declares he is drifting helplessly.

But I agree that he may be in trouble on an offshore reef somewhere and the 5 to 6 ft tide plus the swell will be knocking the stuffing out of Mimsy, Rimas and the chicken. 48 hours with out a ping from the Delorme in sunny weather is unusual especially as he relies on it to get course suggestions from his FB friend Jean and news about SAR efforts.
