Right of way question.

Certainly not a wind-up. I know under racing rules starboard has priority but under power it would be the other boat. I just was not sure if there was a difference whilst sailing but not racing.

1) Racing Rules talk about 'right of way', but there is no such thing in 'International regulations for Prevention of Collisions at Sea', these being the dominant rules regardless of racing. Racing rules are essentially a 'private' set of rules & have no validity concerning other vessels.

2) Under power, the basic rule, apart from overtaking, is pass 'red to red'.
