Apologies for multiple posting, but I'm utterly fed up with the rubbish service on this Forum and the endless empty promises to put it right.

I'm therefore taking a break from here and hope that others will as well, in an effort to put some pressure on IPC to sort it out.

Prompted by BigNick, who is harbouring similar thoughts, here.

See you if/when it gets better.............. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Your's must be working better than mine then 'cos I've never seen any of those here. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yes. I distinctly remember Dan saying that if it wasn't working properly by the first of October, he would buy every forum member, with more than 923 posts on the 4th October, a large drink.

This has to be the slowest and least reliable of all the forums that I subscribe to.

Maybe deleting all content older than 24 months, and deleting out all users that haven't logged on in 24 months might help.

In any case the search functionality is so bad that it's almost impossible to find any old content...

It's a shame, because if the site simply worked reliably, it would be one of the best.

I'm afraid the current speed (or lack of it) hits my 'unusable' threshold, so if nothing changes, I'll be giving it a miss too. I just hope the situation either resolves or that there is another faster forum online I can use instead.

It's now getting very tiresome and I've got better things to do with my time than wait minutes to open a forum/thread and even then not be certain that I'll be timed out.

I'm sure Dan et al are very aware of the failings but it would help for them to communicate exactly what is being done about it, not just issuing platitudes.

Like the idea, but it'll only work if everyone pulls out, which, judging by the views and replies, hasn't happened yet
Besides which, I reckon it's a deliberate act on the part of ipc to give people something to talk about on an otherwise boring weekend

YBW Forum Posters Are On Strike

At this time of night it still takes longer than any other forum to get anywhere, the lounge isn't picked up by searches, so that's the only place I'll be going until the decision makers get this put right
Dan, know it's not your fault mate, but enough is enough
Anyone else that manages to get through, kick this to the top and it'll show on the YBW front page to anyone searching
Not much of a kick up the arse but maybe they might start to listen when they start to lose out on income from advertisers

Re: YBW Forum Posters Are On Strike

The lounge wasn't any faster for me than anywhere else on the forum last night . It's much better now, but the inconsistency is a real pain /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: YBW Forum Posters Are On Strike

Yes I know what you mean guys, I spent time replying to a post only for it to dissapear, so i didnt bother trying again which is a shame cos thats whats this forum is all about.

I looked at the user status there were 23 registered users and about 30 browsers looking and that was it, if ybw want a forum then they need to do something and invest some of the takings from magazine sales into it.

Re: YBW Forum Posters Are On Strike

It is v slow at times, hope they fix it soon. I now spend less time here and more and more on local cpb forums.
