rigging a triple block backstay tensioner

I replaced the rope on the tensioner and tried to follow the old rope round but lost concentration cos I was chatting at the time. Is there an easy diag avail somewhere to show how it should be rigged cos mine now looks like a dogs dinner!

Oooh I'd really like to know this too - every time I've done it, I've ended up with lines crossing in order to get the final purchase on to the middle of the block, so it can go through the cleat's jaws. This results in friction, and I'm sure that there must be a better way to do it, but I just can't figure it out. I presume that we're talking about a tackle with a triple block (three blocks side-by-side) at each end, with a cam cleat in the centre of one of the blocks.

yep, exactly my problem as well!

Note. This assumes that the fiddle onto which the fixed end of the rope is tied/spliced and that the cam cleat are both on the centre pulley.

yep, fiddle on top of bottom middle and cleat on the same block

PBO published a book "Choosing & using sao; control systems" that also shows how it is done.

The trick is to start with the blocks at right angles to each other and start on the top block with the middle sheave and end exit comes out of the middle sheave on the bottom block.

Jimi!.. You didn't ask.. I'd have done the same without thinking.. start with the blocks at right angles and no rubbing!
