Does anyone know of a rigger in Brighton who could come and do an inspection? Our boat is out of the water next month and as she's 10 years old we figure it's time to get it checked out so see if it's all still sound, but so far we've drawn a blank. (There was a local guy but he's died, sadly)

Thanks.

You could give James of Tate marine at Eastbourne a try. he may well be happy to come to Brighton and is certainly able to do the job well.

looks like Bob who he used to work with isn't about either.

AFAIK Bob did the fabrication side of the business rather than rigging. The other guy Yngmar mentioned I suspect was Seth. I have second-hand info that he sold his boat and is no longer the boat rigging business. I know Allspars (swanwick) occasionally do work in Brighton but unless they're already doing a job there I suspect the travel costs would be prohibitive.

Yes Mike Stevens was a legend. Great chap.
If Bob has left that is a double blow to Brighton Marina.

Wow, hadn't heard about Mike, that's a shock. Him and stainless Bob have been brilliant during my refit there.

Yep, that was his name. Bummer.

In that case I would ask at the yacht club (BMYC). They must have someone in the area who fixes all the rigging that their racers keep breaking. Unless the yacht club has also gone, that is! ?
