Rigger Required - Gosport

Any recommendations for a Rigger near Gosport? We've tried SL Rigging and Jerry the Rigger, one didn't provide a quote, the other only answered the phone once, then impossible to get hold of.

We are aware of XW-rigging and will be getting a quote for standing rigging replacement.

When asked for a quote he doesn’t consider labour part of it. Or vat.

Ocean rigging allowed 6 hrs labour on their quotation. They were on site for that overall (undressing and dressing the mast plus setting up, etc) and I managed to pick the person's brain over quite a few items that I wasn't sure of. In the end money well spent and I would use them again.

Slight apology, the quote was for a friend of mine and I misunderstood the vat part.

The quote from XW for a well known boat was £xxx plus vat.

A later message was received saying that was for materials only, not labour!

Neither of us was impressed.

He has now had the rigging changed at a boatyard that gave an accurate cost.

I got a full set of rigging made (copied my old rigging) by Kiwi Marine at Endeavour Quay a few years ago. All the rigging screws etc were from well known manufacturers. The rig was accurate and well made. Job finished on time and to quoted price. Best price in the area too (at the time).

I've just had my mast renewed by Paul at XW rigging and he couldn't have been more helpful - and the invoice matched the quote,

We had our standing rigging renewed by Paul at xw in Nov last year and very content with the price and the work. Again no other connection except he was recommended to us.

I have just had my standing rigging replaced by Martin Leaning at Port Solent -very friendly, helpful and professional service and very detailed estimates.
