I am about to (hopefully) launch my newly acquired Jag 24. Does anyone know of a rigger in NE Scotland (launching at bannf or Macduff). Or is it easy enough to set up yourself? I have read a little about using mast head plumb lines and rig tension. All sounds a bit technical. And I assume a poorly set up rig could lead to a dismasting.

On a 24 it is not all that difficult to do yourself...I base that statement on the fact that I can do it!

general principles guide here,

A tension gauge does make life easier, beg, borrow, steal or in the last resort get one from Salty John, distinguished forumite. :) the cost will be defrayed by not employing a rigger.

if not the tape and ruler method does work well, but a bit tedious.
