Rig magic

Word has drifted up the coast that rig magic has gone into receivership. Anyone got any news/confirmation.

If true, that is unfortunate as I dealt with Nige very recently and he was very helpful - shop didn't have the appearance of going down.

I don't think it was run as a limited company, so was basically a sole trader. He may have voluntarily decided to wind it up if the prospects looked grim.

Doesnt commercial rent ( payable in advance ) fall due 1/9/16, so may have been a factor

Depends on the lease but it ordinarily falls due on the (ancient) Quarter Days - so the next would be 29th September 2016 (Michaelmas)

That would be a great shame.
It was a pleasure dealing with Nigel.
Always helpful.
Great service at a competitive price. They re-rigged our boat in 2010.
Last May Nigel replaced a broken part on our furling gear.
Job done to spec and quote within a matter of days.

Didn't get the impression that the business was suffering, quite on the contrary.

It is traditionally the 29th September, and even if he defaulted on the rent, I am doubtful the Landlord could throw him out so quickly, and I am a past master at throwing tenants out that do not pay their rent.

Quite possibly.
When we last spoke in May he complained about not having enough time to sail his own boat.
