Richmond Lock, River Thames

16.15 I think. One hour past Tower Bridge.

Thanks, guys. Didn't have a clue about tide times on the Thames, all my boating is in North Devon, but I work during the week in Hounslow and wanted to witness the tide on the river.

Best place to witness the tide (hws) is at Putney, just upstream of the bridge. Watch all the cars get flooded and the premises along there fight to keep the water out.

OK, to hell with it. Unbolt it and we'll use it as an anchor!

My preference is the White Cross in Richmond as the tide comes right over the beer garden up to the door. We used to phone work after lunch to say we were flooded in and would be back as soon as the tide turned. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Always amuses me how many £100,000+ boats will wait there for 'free flow' rather than pay a fiver to use the lock.
