looking for suggestions for a new rib tender for my trawler yacht

my personal thoughts are a 290 - 310 centre console rib with a 9.9 hp on snap davits on bathing platform, however dont know if I would be able to use four stroke on snap davits,

what sort of speed could I expect from this set up?

any thoughts from the mighty forum, also anyone know who does the best deals??

A console RIB implies the outboard is fixed in place, and snaps imply you'll be turning it on its side. So that's not going to work as even with a 2 stroke, inverting it means that water in the leg will drain back into the powerhead and the weight would be too much for the tubes on snap davits.

If you want a console RIB, you'll need a crane or a passarelle...

You could take the 9.9 off before rolling the dinghy on the snaps....

However my friend has a 15 2 stroke (same weight as a 9.9 in general) and that's the absolute max you can really lift on land and manoever - so with the much heavier 4stroke you'd probably need to rig up some sort of crane if you wanted to lift it on and off when aboard a rolling boat....

Don't Weaver do a nifty (but horribly complex) linkage that tilts the engine as you lift up the dinghy on snap davits, thus maintaining verticality.

Probably as much as the dinghy and engine tho?

Plan for upgrading tender now scrapped as I agree would be far too heavy - I'll stick to the 270 with the 3.3hp

thanks guys
