Rib problem solved

Ordered a foldable rib from the Nestaway stand at the boat show.
Hanging a rib on the davits would cause med mooring problems and I would also have been limited on the size I could carry. As my wife packs a weeks stuff for a day trip this was a niggling problem for me.
So a 3.6m rib capable of 25+kts and able to carry of 700kgs (with a reduced speed obviously) and assembled easily in 5 minutes was too good to miss.

Excellent reviews in Motorboat & Yachting, Sailing Today and Yachting Monthly swung it for me and I'm looking forward to delivery next week.

No connection to the company just an excited customer :)

The 3m ish Zodiac rib I originally had on my shopping list was over £2k and with some boat show discount a comparable price.
By I have a 3.6m Class C rib coming, much bigger than my boat could accommodate without the folding capacity.
My wife is looking forward to filling the 700kgs load capacity :(

I love the concept, but my only reservation would be the weight of the 3.6 at 50kg. That's a two man lift by eurorat regs, Max sack weight being 40kg(?). I grew up on a farm, and we used to toss 50kg bags of fertiliser into the seed drill no problem.

Might be a problem lifting that weight from low down on the water up onto the swim platform?

Agree I won't be throwing 50kgs around myself but confident I will invent something I can fabricate on my steel boat if necessary. Also looks like I will be able to hang it at an angle on my davits using the towing eyes and a lug on the transom especially partially deflated.

Spearfish looks good fun but the class C 360 will be safer for coastal hops.

Aha, that would make perfect sense ; I thought you were going to store it at the bow, like in the photos .

Nestaway boats delivered on schedule and promptly solved my launch problem.
Leave the bow tube deflated then fold back the bow section and the rib becomes 2.7m long, a perfect length to hang from my davits as the transom of my Pedro is 2.75m.
To enable med mooring I will have to come up with a sling system to hang the rib lower and on it's side attached to the swim platform, not rocket science though :)
Very please with the space and build quality. Wife is looking forward to packing it full on days out, I'll never see it on the plane :(

My Bravo BTP12 digital pump seems not to be accurate, the digital guage showed 0.45 bar before the tubes were firm and the specified pressure was only 0.25 bar, does it need calibrating or are they prone to this?
