Hi all,

(Mods please move if in wrong forum).

So just found out that an RG213U cable we use (fixed VHF) has been cut clean in half, half way along the cable. The good news is that it's indoors and plenty of slack for a repair.

I was hoping to find a simple 'splice kit' or similar, but no such luck?

What would be the best thing do to here? Make off 2 make connections and use a female coupler? (I can heat-shrink after to protect). I'm looking for the most simple solution, but if I have to to the above and solder etc. then so be it.

I'm guessing i'd be using PL258 (female coupler) and PL259 (male connector)??

Many thanks!

You can get coax couplers but I would probably go with a BNC (50 ohm) or N type male and female as they are lower loss and I already have them available. Self-amalgamating tape around the join will help keep moisture out.
Beaten to it. Forget BNC as it will be too small for RG213.
