Rev counter-diesel engine ?

Has anyone got a suggestion for a cheap, reliable, engine mounted rev counter? Plus the name of a supplier, and some idea of how it is fitted?

Are you looking for one that measures mechanical revolutions by vidration or injection pulses or a simple electric one to connect to the alternator?

Do not know / care. The easy, cheap option is the one for me. I have a mechanical hour meter which works on vibration and this seems a great solution, but I did not know that similar rev counters were available...

How about one of these? There might be a UK supplier now or they might do mail order.

I purchased one of these from the UK supplier listed on the Tiny-Tech website, great peice of kit and very easy install; all you need is a screwdriver.

Great, do you have the model for a multi cylinder engine?

My vote goes to Tiny tach! It counts the pulses in the injector pipe so the number of cylinders does not matter. Only problem is it has no backlight but that can be overcome.
