I have replaced my MoB rescue sling because the 'bag' was old and knackered. The line inside looks good. I know its a floaty line, but could I reuse it for say anchor warp?

The Lifesling bag on ours that we inherited with the boat was rotten as was the line, parts of which were little more than dust after time in Florida UV. An anchor line needs to be strong and ideally have some stretch, nylon is ideal. I would guess the recue line is made of cheapo stuff. I replaced the original 'Lifesling' bag with a rigid 'Lifesling' fibreglass case that clamps on the pushpit the line is much better protected inside that from the sun. In my UK days I bought a Plastimo horseshoe lifebuoy that had a similar looking yellow safety line in loops on it to aid catching it, that line was remarkably similar to the Lifesling line and it rotted in a few months enough to fall apart when I picked it up, despite always being stored below decks unless we were actually at sea.

The OP was wondering what to do with the old lone I think.
The only use that comes to mind is a trip/pickup line between two mooring buoys, and perhaps the dinghy painter.

I've used it as mousing line for re-rigging the various bits of a single-line reefing system; the loose single-braid construction allows you to poke another line up the middle and then a little tape makes a strong and streamlined joint, with the braid gripping the inner line.

It's obviously too thin for a yacht anchor line; maybe a dinghy but the stiffness will make it a bit awkward to handle and stow.
