returning to water after 30 years . Looking at motor cruisers around 30ft. Particularly impressed with a Colvic Sunquest 29. Sadly I missed it. Any comments from you seasoned sailors. Anyone GOT a sunquest 29?
Not got any expereince with the Colvic stable, but if you give us an idea of budget and area of use/desired boating type then you will likely get some other good suggestions as well as some opinions on the Colvic.
well I want to enjoy offshore cruising, fishing, and weekend live on with my wife and also the kids when they are in town. Twin diesel, aft cockpit and some nav. aids ,total package up to around 30k. Just missed a lovely sunquest 29 which met just about all my requirements . Problem was, after 30 odd years Im pretty green. I dilly dallied for too long ,and she was gone.
A Storbero Royal 31 Baltic. Ok, so asking a bit over budget, but you should be able to haggle down and it ticks all the boxes, plus it is from a very fine stable. Aft cabin, loads of space and a hard top.
The storeboro certainly looks a tough, classy craft. I viewed one near Southampton, but it was sold next day. I have looked at this particular craft several times on the web site. Where is she berthed?
saw a nice princess 33 in holland before christmas. been giving it some thought. are there any rules, regulations, laws, licences required to bring her back to the solent.?

Ahh,now I see. You own a storeboro. Had it long? this message may come up twice,as Im still trying to get to grips with these forum controls.
To move it from Holland you would need an ICC (or a skipper with an ICC) while in EU waters, other than that nothing required. You may need to de-register it from the Dutch registry befor reregistering on either the SSR or Part One registers here.
Very much so. An article on her purchase appeared in MBY not so so long ago. She is out of the water at the moment due to an injector breaking up, doing a tap dance on top of a piston and shredding the turbo on the way out. Engine goes back in on Saturday ready for launch on Monday.
While out, we have had the old anti foul stripped off and new applied after a good coat of primacon and put in two new manual bilge pumps. The installation of which yet again proved how solid she is.
She is an ideal boat for our needs and cuts through anything at a steady 18 knots. We have the Baltic version which does not have the stern cabin, but the pilot house is ideal for our needs. She sleeps 6 comfortably and has plenty of headroom below.
An all for £35k. We have fitted new nav equipment, radar and VHF as well as MCA coded her for 8. We also replaced the engines from the original 158hp Volvos to AD41B which are 200hp each.
i'm just about to advertise my sunquest 29 for sale ..... fitted with economical volvo kad 42 230hp with duoprop giving about 27 knots cruising 30 knots max. get back to me if you are interested. norwood10@hotmail.com
