Return to Spain

Finnally arrived back in Spain this evening
JW is now back on her home berth.
She is now just over a year old and has nearly 4000 miles under her belt - all without a single hitch.
Whilst treating ourselves to a well deserved drink in the marina, we agreed that she had a contented smile on her having completed her latest stage - the return from Malta to Sant Carles in Spain and after some big seas from Sardinia when she behaved herself well - even though the crew found it tough.

Full reports to follow - if any of you find it interesting.

Mike and the crew

The trip from Sardinia to Menorca can be a right barsteward, if theres any bad weather in the gulf of lions, I know, got hammered there one year! wind and sea on the beam, high seas, yuck!

Great stuff. Wow, 4000miles in a year - that is serious use Hurricane. Respect! My burn rate was 8000 in 5yrs in the last boat and felt I was quite a regular user, but that pales in comparison to your mileage. I need to get working on retirement :-)

Yes, we're interested in the reports and pictures. Please post when you get the chance

Hi Mike, had the code flags ready to welcome you back but expect you arrived late, after 6pm? Glad you made it before the blow in the marina today!

Look forward to reading your full report with images in due course! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I've got to hand it to you Mike - you're living the dream.

I look forward to seeing the report and pics as SV is out of the water just now and I need a fix /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It would be interesting to hear also about the u/w gear antifoul conditions, if you had a chance to snorkel around a bit and check that...

Just a quick reply but, fundimentally the Velox didn't work (about 75% gone but it was more than 1500 miles).
To this end, we have arranged a lift for Monday morning so I'll take some pics and put up a new post on my dissapointing findings.
So I think we might be back to the drawing board. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I've used Trilux Prop-o-Drev in the spray cans, with primer first, and so far no signs of it flaking off or peeling

Mind you, I only put it on last night /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Seperately, I bought two boxes of Seajet Pellerclean for the Windy, opened it up to find five bottles and no instructions /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif. Went back to the shop and they couldn't get anyone at Seajet, so they refunded me, as the boat was being launched the following morning.

I think we've yet to find that elusive propeller a/f that works.

We´re in the departure lounge now (16.30utc+2) at Barelona. (Club class loafing) courtesy of Jez but still ruffing it compared with ´Jenny Wren´! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

What an absolutely marvelous trip, still can´t believe it and wot a boat?

Well Done Princess
Well Done Mike and Mary too.... Brilliant!

The few of us that have had the experience will never forget these passages the friends on the forum will get to see yet another great thread to follow.

Also nice to meet John and Lorraine on ´Buster´ (Targa34) your boat looked great there in the setting sun in San Carles last night. Hope to see you another day.

OUT! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi Roger, nice to meet both you and Derek.

Now had a full tour of JWren, what a great boat! Love the electronics!

I am waiting for the new model to come out, with the engines that will propel her along at 38k for an hour whilst burning only a cup full of diesel! A very small cup that is!

Always a beer on ice should you return to SCM soon!
