Has anyone had experience of retro-fitting an electric start to an outboard, specifically a Mariner 40.
Costs? Feasibility? An experience welcomed.

I havent actually done it but looked at the differences when I had two motors the same , one electric one not.
I think the only cost effective way would be if you could get a broken powerhead from the electric model and change things over.
You would need ; starter motor and cables, fywheel , extra coils to charge the battery, solenoid , keystart assembly(or starting switch) and of course the battery and wiring loom with fuses. Thats all I can remember sitting here at my computer, as it was a few years ago.
I hope this is of some help.

Cheers
