Retro fitting a holding tank

Is this a case of there is none and it is a full retrofit or to replace one. Mine was the latter and was done relatively cheaply (under 1k) but if you also have to replace toilet system and sea-cocks, pumpouts etc add in plumbing and electrics then I could imagine it getting pricey quickly.

Impossible to say without knowing the boat and what type of holding tank system is required. however, the hardware for a decent size (60-80l) custom gravity tank will be around £1k. Cheaper if you can use a standard size tank rather than custom and (much) more expensive if you want a pumped system. Labour costs will vary, but be aware can equal or exceed the hardware because it is usually a horrible and time consuming job!
