Just thinking out aloud.
I have just downloaded the manual for the Navman 6500, and working my way through it. (assume connected to autopilot)
I know it has the MOB button, but is there also a retrace the course facility? ie the whole course of the day , not just the MOB location.
The plotter keeps records of the COG, but can you easily tell it to pilot the boat back along the whole or part of the recorded COG?

I will most likely answer this question myself after reading the manual, but thought that I would ask here first if any one has researched it.

(I hate reading manuals on the laptop screen, much prefer to print out and read on proper paper, but that will have to wait until tomorrow)

Thanks again in advance.

I am puzzled to know why you would want to?
On a country hike you might need to precisely retrace your steps to have some chance of finding that valuable item you dropped somewhere, however at sea .....

Just curious. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If you set a route in - you can reverse the route to go back.

Now some plotters / programs allow you to convert a track to a route .. so you may be able to do it that way ...

Just curious! ... So was I.
Actually there was an investigation a few years ago in UK, body dredged up, still with Rolex watch, Police traced watch to owner, also worked out how long the watch would run on full auto wind etc.. to cut a long story short they found a suspect and checked the plotter and it was in the vacinity at the right time that the body was given the concrete boots treatment (actually it was an anchor through the trouser belt.

SBC: Thanks, just what I was thinking.
