Restoring Teak

Some advice please.
The bathing platform on my boat is a stainless steel frame with hardwood slats, teak I think, but the wood has gone grey and weathered. How can I bring the wood back to its former glory and then keep it that way? Anything better than sanding and varnishing?

Ah. Found by accident last year. Get some of the powder scrubbing stuff for doing nonslip decks with. Sprinkle some on and then use a scrubbing brush. They come up like new.
